Sync or Swim - Pompeya at the Echoplex (LIVE REVIEW) / by Lane Smith

The other night, I made my way out to the Echoplex in Los Angeles to catch Moscow pop/funk outfit, Pompeya. Coming off their full length record Real, this 80's infused, groove driven band had the crowd feeling all sorts of good playing new tracks and old.

"For the new album, we wanted to create music with a larger message, for a more global audience," the band explained in a recent press release. "We were forced out of our comfort zones, forced to experiment more and discuss serious topics like growing up, loss, fatherhood, and staying true to yourself without going crazy. These are the real stories of our lives, and the real sound we want to present."

Take a listen to Real, and catch them on their next tour when it comes around.
